JQuest
JQuest is a Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Strategy game (MMORPSG) in development. These are the preliminary design pages.
In Jquest, each player plays a guild of adventurers. Initially, only one member is in the [guild]? and the guild only owns a small 1-bedroom house. Through taking simple quests, raw materials and money can be found to expand the house and subsequently invite new members. Once the guild gains maps to different Islands, it can be expanded there.
Each Island has a settlement with various NPCs? that give quests and buy and sell stuff. Going on a quest or just exploring uses up travel time, which is accrued in real time whenther logged on or logged off. Certain items like horses or flying carpets reduce the cost in travel time to get to quest or overland locations.
Travel time is collected for each character in the guild and can be used to send that character on journeys instantly, on safe, known paths. Another possiblity is to just go and explore.
Combat is turn based, with the characters at the bottom of the screen and the monsters at the top. Each character has a list of actions they can perform that turn. Once all actions are entered, click the "Start Round" Button, and charactes will act in their defined actions while monsters will act when it is their turn. Turn order is based on character speed.
